Geauga County Public Library: How did you come up with the idea for Puffles Goes Camping in Ohio?
Hailey Green: Whenever my family went camping I brought the stuffed animals with me and wrote all about that camping trip.
GCPL: How long did it take you to write the book?
HG: It took me about a year to write the book.
GCPL: What is your favorite part of the writing process?
HG: My favorite part about the writing process was just writing the story and thinking about ideas.
GCPL: What is your least favorite part of the writing process?
HG: My least favorite part about the writing process is the editing because you do it over and over again, it’s very boring.
GCPL: Who are some of your favorite writers? Why?
HG: Some of my favorite writers are, Serena Valentino, Raina Telgemeier, James Patterson, and Chris Colfer. The reason why they’re my favorite is because I think they all have a great flow in their writing and get you on the edge of your seat.
GCPL: Are you writing another book? If so, can you tell us a little bit about it?
HG: I am writing another book. It is about Christmas. I love Christmas and it gives me a joy in my heart, so I thought it would be nice to give that to someone as they are reading.
GCPL: Please finish this sentence: “My library is incredible because…”
HG: My library is incredible because they give you the opportunity to have book signings.
GCPL: What book are you currently reading?
HG: I am reading The Land of Stories: The Enchantress Returns, by Chris Colfer. I love how he gets you on the edge of your seat in his books. He has a great way of taking fantasy books to a whole new level.
