The holiday season is upon us here in Northeast Ohio and the Geauga County Public Library is ready with a wide selection of books.
New titles have been added to the collection for 2017 such as The Dog who Came for Christmas, by Sue Pethick, Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery, by Jenny Colgan, The Beloved Christmas Quilt, by Wanda E. Brunstetter and Chasing Christmas Eve, by Jill Shalvis.
One of my picks is A Secret Gift, by Ted Gup. This non-fiction title takes place shortly before Christmas 1933 in Canton, Ohio. It is the story of a newspaper ad which offered $10 to 75 families in need. In response, interested readers would write of their hardships to an anonymous benefactor. This book follows the history of that benefactor as well as the lives of those affected.
And as always, the best part is all are available in Large Print!
