If you’ve been looking for a reason to read outside your comfort zone and expand your literary horizons, you need to take the GCPL 100-Book Challenge. Participants have two years to read 100 books from a list of about 200 titles that have been been selected to induce discovery in all genres and styles. That’s about a book a week. Granted, it’s not for wimps. But, the prize is worth the effort. Keep reading.
Here’s how it works: Sign up for the challenge at any GCPL reference desk. Then, you will be able to “opt in” to the challenge inside your online library account where you can keep track of your progress. After you’ve read the book, visit the reference desk at your favorite GCPL location to answer a simple question about it to prove you read the book. That’s it!
Complete the challenge, and receive a fleece GCPL jacket or vest from the combined Geauga County Library Foundation and libraries’ Friends’ groups that will allow you to show off your literary prowess with pride. For a complete list of challenge books, reviews and descriptions, visit our Goodreads group.
