Fall is almost here in Geauga County and my thoughts turn to beautiful colors, apples and, of course, pumpkins! Giant pumpkins in fact!

Did you know the current record holder for Ohio’s all time heaviest pumpkin lives in Geauga County, Huntsburg Township? The pumpkin was grown in Huntsburg Township and weighed in at 2,058.5 pounds! During the driest months of the year, it often takes 200 gallons a day to water. Giant pumpkins, along with giant zucchini and giant potatoes can be found at the Huntsburg Pumpkin Festival on October 7 & 8 in Huntsburg Township. Stop by and enjoy good food, crafts and live entertainment!
